Manish Kumar (Mechanical Engineering)

No of Rounds: 3

Overview

"It was an off- Campus drive, the First round consisted of 4 section

  1. Apti
  2. Reasoning
  3. English
  4. Hands on coding
The plateform used was AMCAT
TIP- in almost every exam that is held on AMCAT the Aptitude and reasoning section has repeating questions so go arrange thoes set of questions and you would be able to perform well."

Technical Interview

They asked from whatever was mentioned in my resume - I had mentioned c++, C ,DBMS there. The questions were

  1. Difference between C&C++
  2. explain Polymorphism with the help of inheritance
  3. What s a class
  4. What is Dynamic memory Allocation
  5. Explain Call by value, Call by reference, call by adress.

Do prepare well whatever is mentioned in your CV don't just search here and there like what questions have been asked in the interview or what is the interview experience of others.
TIP- The probability of asking questions from whatever mentioned in your Resume is way more then the probability of repeating questions that was asked to your friends or that you got to know through other sources.SO BETTER BE RESUME SPECIFIC.

HR Interview

It will specifically apply to Mechanical Engineering students who are appearing for IT industry job-

  1. You are from mechanical engineering background why do you want to join IT industry and questions will follow up from what ever your reply will be of the above question.
  2. Certain situational based questions like - If you have multiple job offer say one from CORE and other from IT industry which one will you choose or If you have a job offer of double your salary from other company but you are stuck in your present company with an important project what will you do.
  3. Explain your project - and there may be follow up questions from this.
  4. Why do you want to join Accenture?

The key factor in any HR interview is CONFIDENCE. One way to be confident is to prepare each and every thing that is mentioned in your CV from project to skills to hobbies. If your are confident enough you can sail through these types of questions easily. Always remember there is no any specific pattern in which you should answer the question, it has to be tailored by you at that moment only, and it can only be done if your are confident enough. So my sugessetion - give your 80 Percent time in preparing TI and 20 percent for HR round .
