Capgemini Interview

I am Amit Kumar Prasad, final year EEE undergraduate at NIT Sikkim. I got selected in Capgemini through the campus placement drive. Below is my complete experience for the recruitment at Capgemini for the post of senior analyst. The Capgemini recruitment process consisted of 3 rounds:

Round 1: Online Test

This test basically consisted of 4 stages. The first two stages were elimination rounds, i.e., if you won't clear a specific cutoff you will not reach the next stage.
So the 1st stage was TECHNICAL ASSESSMENT PSEUDOCODE.
In this, there were around 10 theory questions, and around 15 to 20 pseudocodes. All of these were majorly based on data structures. The pseudocodes were easy if you knew how to get the output of a particular section of codes. And the theoretical questions were also of moderate level.
After this, the next stage was MCQ BASED ENGLISH COMMUNICATION TEST. It was also of a moderate level.
The students who cleared the above two stages were allowed to enter the 3rd stage which was GAME BASED APTITUDE TEST.
It was a rather interesting round. You can get the idea about the game based aptitude test through several video links on youtube which had the game based questions of Capgemini.
And after that was the 4th stage which was BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCY PROFILING. These sets of questions don't have a particular correct answer. You just have to answer these questions according to you, i.e, what would you have done in different situations.

Round 2: Technical Interview

The interviewer at the beginning asked me to introduce myself to make myself comfortable. While introducing myself I tried to focus his attention on my project and internship as I was confident that I would be able to answer any questions related to that. And in the end, i also mentioned my strong technical points.
(Never mention any skill for which you are half prepared. Even 1 skill is enough if you have complete proficiency over that skill)
The questions he asked me after my introduction were:
  • Q- Characteristics of OOPS.
I first explained what is OOPS and then briefly explained its characteristics with an example.
  • Q- What is SDLC and the steps involved in SDLC.
I told that SDLC stands for Software Development Life Cycle and it is the framework defining the tasks performed at each stage in the software development process.
Then I briefly explained its various steps which were Planning, Defining, Designing, Building, Testing, and Deployment.
  • Q- What was the project on which you worked on?
I gave a brief description of the goal of the project and mentioned my role in the project. I mentioned the languages we used in this project.
He then asked me what was my contribution in this project. So after this he started asking me questions related to SQL which was my strong point. He asked me what is database, different joins in SQL, difference between primary key and foreign key.
  • Q- Tell me about your internship.
I did my internship at Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd. And the told him what were the things I learned there and what was the company about.
  • Q- which languages you know?
I named the different programming languages I have worked on.
  • Q- Most stressful situation?
In this, I just told him about some past incident from my college life.
  • Q- Difficulties faced during the project.
I told him that we faced a little difficulty while applying the parallax effect on our webpage. But later we overcame it with the help of our seniors and teachers.
This round lasted for around 30-35 minutes.

Round 3: HR Interview

  • This round also started with the interviewer asking me to introduce myself.
  • If I was fine with relocation?
  • Why Capgemini?
  • Ever worked with a team? How was the experience?
  • What were the problems I faced while working with the team?
This round was for around 15 minutes and basically wanted fluency in English. For the HR interview if you know about the company and are fluent in English then you can easily clear this round.
And you just have to be prepared for questions on your project and the internship you did because most of the questions in all the interviews will be focused on these topics only.
